Curriculaville 2021: A Fun Security Awareness Conference Series

The Curricula team is excited to officially announce Curriculaville 2021! This is our fun security awareness conference that’s free to attend as part of National Cyber Security Awareness Month. After the success of our first-ever Curriculaville last October, how could we not do it again?

For those of you who attended last year, we have a few awesome changes. This year we’ll be hosting the virtual event all month long, which will be held on every Friday in October at 2 p.m. EST, 11 a.m. PST. Each week we’ll be covering a different cyber security ‘hot topic’ for you to learn and participate in.

“So much has happened in the last year. Remote work, ever-advancing cyber threats, and budget cuts have forced companies to re-evaluate their cyber security needs and left many IT professionals struggling to find answers on how to reduce cyber risks. It’s time to get real about these problems and it starts with talking with our employees.” said Curricula’s CEO and cybersecurity expert, Nick Santora (CISA, CISSP).

Our hope is that Curriculaville will help bring IT security professionals together, to listen to each other, and realize we don’t have to battle this alone. As part of Curricula’s mission, we want to grow our community of innovative organizations to understand the importance of training their frontline defense, their employees, to build a culture of security to help defeat cyber threats.

Our mission of sharing real-world cyber stories helps further justify the need for better cyber security education. Curriculaville is an opportunity for everyone to learn, and to create an open dialogue around security awareness training.

In honor of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, we wanted to join forces using Curriculaville to promote how you and your employees can #BeCyberSmart all month long. With more than a dozen speakers representing both the public and private-sector, the agenda for Curriculaville will work alongside the weekly cyber security themes established by CISA and NCSA.

“While we know there is never a way to reduce the risk of ransomware to zero, there are some basic things that can be done to significantly lower risks such as security awareness training,” said Craig Goodwin, co-founder of Cyvatar. “If you’re in the right camp of thought that wants to do things differently, it’s about making cybersecurity training fun — and Curricula has done just that with DeeDee and Curriculaville.”

The goal of Curriculaville is to create an open dialogue between CISOs, IT Directors, and Information Security managers and our incredible lineup of security experts. Curriculaville attendees will learn how to build a better security culture, hear stories from organizations about their journeys with security awareness, discuss current events in the industry and ask any burning questions to our live panel of professionals.

Curriculaville is a free event and will be hosted virtually every Friday in October at 11 a.m. EST / 2 p.m. PST.

“Security is everybody’s business — with everything connected, all the time, we all have a role to play in keeping our organizations’ systems safe,” said Leslie Daigle, CTO & Internet Integrity Program Director of the Global Cyber Alliance. “Curriculaville provides a great opportunity to learn how to get engaged.”
